Titleist TS2 Driver

The Titleist TS2 is a step in the long direction from the TS1. With changes in weight location, the shot shaping ability of the TS2 is above and beyond. Mix that with it’s added distance and you’ll be lowering your handicap in a hurry.

  • TS2 lived up to the claim of high forgiveness
  • One buyer claimed it knocked three strokes off their score within the first four weeks
  • Improved control on drives and the sound it makes on a solid drive is icing on the cake

Reasons To Buy Reasons NOT To Buy

  • Hardly a reason not to buy but this club does not come with an adjustment tool.

Our Thoughts On The Titleist TS2 Driver

The Titleist TS2 is a great performing driver that allows golfers of any skill set to swing away. It has a high amount of forgiveness and the carry is on the longer side of average with a typical amount of spin.  The up side of this is for those of you that can control your drives, this club gives you more options on how much you can shape a shot off the tee.

One thing about golf is that having the clubs that fit your body type and your swing is of the utmost importance. It is not always the person that has the most expensive club in their bag that will play the best, it will be the person that best gets along with their clubs.

I think this club is another great addition to the Titleist line of drivers. It sounds like it checks all of the boxes to for low/mid to high handicap golfers.

Titleist TS2’s Aesthetic Sleekness

Looks aren’t everything, especially when it comes to drivers, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t important. Sure, you should care a lot more about performance, but drivers are still one of if not the most distinctive and visible golf clubs in your bag. From a purely social standpoint, you want your clubs to be nice. You may not be a boastful person, but there’s nothing wrong with taking a little pride in clubs well-worth boasting about, right?

You will be proud of how this driver looks in your bag. With “Titleist” printed on elegant curves and features a great finish on this 430cc club head.

The shape is a bit different from other drivers. Instead of the traditional pear shape, you get a more rounded, symmetrical look. This, combined with the glossy black crown and the model’s alignment, help contribute to its aforementioned high-style status.

Evaluating its Performance

Just as a batter can tell whether they’ve hit the ball well or not by the crack of the bat, a good golfer can tell how well they’ve hit their shot by the sound of the ball coming off the club. The classic sound-feel test here checks out, with a dead-on center shot producing a lower-pitched “smack” while hitting it off-center produces a higher-pitched sound. You also feel a good, solid feedback in your hands when you hit it well.

The Titleist TS2 Driver has a rectangular weight (if you have used the TS1, it’s similar to that, but with the weight placed toward the face instead).

On the one hand, this has helped the TS2 cut down on spin rate. If you’re someone who is putting too much spin on your ball and looking for a straight shot instead of shaped shots, this may be a valuable countermeasure.

The fact that the TS2 is more forgiving than the previous TS1 model is something you’ll need to consider when deciding if it’s right for you.

The TS2’s ability to shape shots will be another added bonus to playing this club. People tha struggle with driver control usually do not want to even try to shape shots. With the extra control provided, even mid to low handicap players can take their drives to the next level shaping shots.

In Conclusion

If you are a beginner, the TS2 may be a bit too intense for you, especially with its less than forgiving style. Golfers with the experience to control it will have a highly rewarding driver. It cuts down on excess spin masterfully, and is a great choice for anyone looking for extra shot shaping.

Bubba Watson has been known for his crazy shot curvature on the Tour. If that’s your style and you’re looking to blast it like Bubba, this Titleist TS2 driver may prove to be the choice of champions in your hands.
